TKU's First Annual Music Festival

In recent years, events have taken place on every campus that have allowed students to express feelings to their loved ones through sending flowers, chocolate, bread, watermelon, cake and more. Recipients of these loving gifts are always filled with warm feelings, especially when the carrier is dressed in a mailman outfit to fit the occasion. This year the Music Club is doing something even more unique to celebrate the First Annual TKU Music Festival by allowing students to express their affections through the gift of music. Students are able to go to Hai Bao street and choose 5 songs to burn on a CD to share with a loved one. In addition they can take a card and/or cute artwork to squeeze a bit more love into their gift.

Founder of the New TKU Music Festival is Head of the Tamkang University Indie Hot Music Club and third-year student of the Department of Industrial Economics, Zhen-zong Xu, expressed, “This event will include the participation of 14 different musical groups: Tukulele, TKU WMC, Classic Guitar TKU, TKU String, Guitar Club, Lingyun, TKUMCC, Tamkang Orchestra, Gu Zheng Club, Beat Box Club, TKU Piano Club, TKU Chorus and the TKU Wind Band. It is a blend of different music and historical heritage that everyone can come enjoy together. There are a lot of culturally related events on campus that people have a chance to join together and strengthen bonds, but none of them involve music. So we came up with this festival for music appreciationists like myself.”
