Female Faculty Alliance Choir Peform for the Moon Night Flower

The recently established Female Faculty Alliance Choir held a performance in the Carrie Chang Music Hall on May 28th at 7pm. They have already had other performances including outside of the university, banquets, and the retirement tea party. Managing this choir performance was President of the Board of Trustees, Shu-feng Hsiao, Guidance Professor Yueh Hsueh Tsai, and Piano Instructor Hsuan-pu Chang. In addition to giving a beautiful performance using a traditional format, they also added a modern style dance performance that captivated the audience. Also singing along was President Flora Chia-I Chang, Vice President of Administration, Po-yuan Kao, Vice President of International Affairs, Wan-chin Tai, and Dean of Lanyang Campus, Jyh-horng Lin.

Before the performance began, a small speech was given by President Flora Chia-I Chang. She stated, “My name Flora represents flower which is quite fitting for today’s Moon Night Flower Performance.“ She expressed that her wish was that everyone could momentarily put down the thoughts of work and relax while embracing the diverse melodies of the performance. A magical and charming atmosphere was created as the choir sang through an arrangement of 20 different songs including OP19, NO2, Cosi fan tutte, E amore un ladroncelo, Die Zauberflote, Zweite Arie der Konigin der Nacht, the Phantom of the Opera, Think of Me Edelweiss and many more. Every member of the choir represented a different story and theme of music which was expressed throughout the performance. Shu-feng Hsiao stated, “Even though music isn’t my specialization, music will always be important to everyone because it is a representation of life.”
