On March 25th the annual event to share student club memories and experience was held in rooms O306 and Q306. All of the student groups that had offered services during the winter break, gathered together to learn from each other. Captain of the Thailand Study Service Team and third year student of the Department of International Business, Dan Cao, stated, “When I am in Thailand it feels as if I’m in my purest and most humble form. When we arrived to see our host families, It felt like we had been missed every single day since our last visit.” Four-year student of the Department of Information and Library Science, Yi-ru Zhou, stated, “Receiving the host mother’s homemade key chain that she personally made for us as a souvenir, moved me to tears. I feel so incredibly blessed to be a part of this project.”

There were a total of 31 service teams made up of 700 students that travelled to 17 regions around Taiwan and even overseas to give support of and share academic knowledge of TKU. The Office of Student Affairs held this event in order to give students an opportunity to encourage each other and inspire new blood to participate. The exchange included a collection of visual aids: pictures, videos and achievements to allow the audience to travel along with the student groups.

Dean of the Office of Academic Affairs, Tung-wen Chung, made a personal appearance to congratulate the students on their endeavors. Director of the Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section, Su-kuang Chiang, stated, “Doing this type of volunteer work isn’t a single event, but a lifestyle. The highest level of service is incorporating this spirit into your everyday life.” Director of the Office of Student Affairs, Chih-en Ko, stated, “Seeing the smiles on each of these members’ faces, indicates that the seed of service has successfully been implemented in their hearts. It’s my hope that the seed is nurtured over the years and that our society may benefit from a great harvest.”
